I don't know if you've ever seen "The Birds" by Alred Hitchcock... I saw it at the Paramount Theatre in late summer. I'm not afraid of birds and the movie didn't scare me, but coming out of the theatre in the late summer with all of the grackles flocking in the trees and in the area overhead... well let's just say I noticed them a little more that night ;)
Halloween Inspiration by Camille Styles.
This "The Birds" inspired party shoot was eerie and sexy with it's brooding black and white theme and tiny pops of red. It also suggests a fall/wintery feel - my favorite. Tiny birds littered the scene to reinforce the concept and make it a little scarier. The dining table from LOOT vintage rental was perfect with it's ornate and classic feel. I assure you this is not patinated, that baby is original. The table is beautifully bookended by big poofy black and white striped chairs I would gladly store for LOOT should they ever run out of room in their warehouse. The white walls and stained glass of Mercury Hall were characters all their own in this story.
The bar cart complete with vodka and tomato juice for the luxurious bloody marys. Each place setting came complete with a menu with a tiny accent feather.
All of the snacks including salted caramel apples and black bird suger cookies we expertly created by Sara from Sara Belle's Bakery. Sara explained that birds were easy by comparison, they looked pretty hard to me, until I went to her site!!! WOWzers, I can hardly wait until B's next birthday, I am going to ask Sara to rock out some Star Wars characters.
A couple branches suspended from the ceiling served as a perches for the wandering bird posse. It was a wonderful addition, and gave great dimension to the already spooky table.
The crew doubled as cast and wore their best Halloween holiday fair. Even B asked me when I was editing if she, on the right, was Cruella de Vil.
Byrd Collective's Ashley Bailey created these divine autumnal arrangements in creamy toupe and deep red, low so the hanging birds would have a little room to take flight.
Sara's beautiful and delicious cookies. B loved them, plus when he munched on them, his whole face turned black, it was so cute.
Jen came up with this outstanding idea for a photobooth, the sheer backdrop and bird cut outs shining through. So clever and what an awesome effect.
And just a couple behind the scenes so you can see just what goes into such a wonderous production.
